Use PLC as OPC client

Hello everyone !

Is there any PLC module (vendor is irrelevant at this point), that acts as an OPC client and can be used to request data from an OPC server ?
Found this https://www.se.com/ww/en/product/BMENUA0100/opc-ua-module-for-m580/ but this states that it can be used as an OPC server not a client.

Any ideas ?

It can be also any other gateway device from a known vendor, that can act as an OPC client

S7-1500's from Siemens can be OPC UA Server and Client.

I believe that Beckhoff and CoDeSys also support PLCs as OPC UA Clients.

Jmobile can run as a CODESYS PLC and supports UA and MQTT also Redlion can act a a good gateway

This is indeed very nice, however I am looking for an industrial equipment that can act as an opc client. A PLC or another gateway device.
Beckhoff PCs look also very interesting however never had prevoious experience.
Do those PCs run windows IR do they come with another OS?

Depends on which series and/or model. They run everything from Windows 7 Embedded, to Win 10 IoT. There is also Beckhoff's proprietary OS - TwinCAT BSD.

Red Lion's DA10D protocol converter would work for this. It's small and relatively cheap (I think $500-$600).
