As a direct result the programming Step7 software is compatible.

These are two different PLC's
1: The S7315-DP has a DP interface, V115SER has not.
2: The S7315-DP has much more RAM than the V115SER.
3: The IO/IF/CP cards are totally different.
4: They can run much of the same code.
I did never use a V115, but my guess is that Vipa needs a fake DP-master (S7315DP) to be able to add a fake unit with a V115 GSD file for parametrizing their CPU.
