What's the coolest control panel/HMI ever built?

We have four machines (Pacmac) with those touchscreens on them. We have only replaced one in the 6 years I have worked here, and it had a problem with a printer port IIRC. Too bad you can't load them up with Crimson. I think they run XP embedded or a custom DOS based HMI package.
PacMac?
Blast from the past.
Are you hosing them down daily? The ones from years back were given a bath from the sanitation crew on a daily basis, no issues whatsoever with the screens.
Those things were the original "Black" GML pre-Allen Bradley servos?

What plant are you in Paul?
It has to be food but are you making pasta or sauce bags?

Yes. 500psi (at the pumps) 170-180 degrees F.

They're black PacMac labelled Electrocraft (Ultra 100/200 series?) drives, best I can tell. I think one of them has an A/B drive in it. We buy them from PacMac with the personality module already programmed. I rarely work in that room. It takes too much time to comply with the requirements (change boots, wash hands, put on gloves, wash hands, put on apron, wash apron, douse self with conductive sanitizer...start all over because I forgot to sanitize my screwdriver...)

Lopez Foods OKC.

Sausage and beef patties, some of our sausage is loose filled bagged by the vertical PacMac packing machine. . .fed by Ishida scales.

:geek:

That is almost identical to RedLion, even the programming software is laid out exactly like Crimson 3.
In reference to:

It looks to me as if they have an agreement with Red Lion to rebrand their hardware and software?

EDIT: Installing GUICon 2.0 Build 443.001 now...Yep, it's Crimson 3.0 ... from the release notes there may some differences in drivers though...

Do you guys think If we all join in and start buying a large amount of Red Lion we can get them to private label them for ushttp://www.plctalk.net/qanda/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.plctalk.net/qanda/images/icons/icon12.gif

I am going to have them make some labels up so I can put my company on them overlay.

For sure! Somewhere NASA has posted the "owner's manual" that the astronauts studied, which describes all the controls in detail.

One especially interesting aspect is the Display-Keyboard, the array of black square buttons and display screen on the left-hand portion of the panel. It was the user interface for the Apollo Guidance Computer, which took the spacecraft to the moon and back on less memory than a $69 Click micro PLC.

I get a kick out of this video (HMI):

Here is another important computer in the Apollo program. I worked on this one at NASA in the Astrionics Lab in my youth. It was the first and last time I worked on a compter that voted: 2 out of 3 won each time. Any 1-out-of 3 result was assumed to be a malfunctioning circuit. Of course there were a few times when two of the redundant circuits failed.

I assume that the tablet is just using a web browser, which can be done in the Red Lions.

FWI, Honeywell is also rebranding Red Lion HMI's for their HC900 controllers.

Hey, Is the Tablet app on this available with Red Lion or is this only with the Eurotherm version?

Not an app, just a web server...all the G3s support this as far as I know, you just need a browser and access to the network. Note that when you are monitoring via web browser, you are looking at the same page and data displayed on the real hardware. If you push a button or change screens, the real hardware will reflect those changes and vice versa.
