I know only 2 express methods for choosing and tuning the PID controller: the Kopelovic's method and the Zigler-Nickols's method. Are theese two methods rather good to choose and tune my controller, or there are better express methods. I've heard about Lerner's, Dudnikov's and Krug's methods. Does anyone know something about them?
Regards.

See the post on PID simulation and the one "Trying to Find a Website" for more info. Ziegler Nichols has withstood the test of time, and is a good place to start. However, it only gives initial tuning paramters. Don't think you can plug in the results of this or any other tuning algorithm and walk away.
