Hi!

Our customer wants to operate his machine from his computer.
In TIA there is only WinCC Basic if I have understood it correctly.
I figured out you have to have WinCC Flexible to be able to program the HMI to a computer. Here's my question.

There are several programming programs. Micro, compact, standard, advanced.
Do I have to have the advanced edition to do this?

and

My customer need a WinCC Flexible RT on his machine?

Your WinCC Basic is not directly compatible with WinCC Flexible RT. So you would have to rewrite your HMI program from new if you plan to use WinCC Flex RT.

The next version of TIA Portal that includes WinCC v11 can open your v10.5 project. You then also need to upgrade WinCC to the "Advanced" version.
The next version of TIA Portal will come in 2-3 months.

We are just in the starting of the project so now we just gather the information on what programs to be used. So no worry on any rewriting, we order the flexible advanced and the runtime license and we are good to go =)
