Yet another FactoryTalk SE server redundancy question

So, after adding a second PC, purchasing another server license and setting up to function as a redundant server for FTV SE, I think I've discovered an issue. The idea was that when the primary server PC is shut off or unplugged, the secondary would kick in and the client PCs would never notice. However, after testing, this does not happen, instead the clients go blank and the secondary server PC says it cannot see FT directory(obviously, because it's on the primary PC).

Am I going to need to put the FT Directory on another separate PC to get this to work the way I want? Many thanks.

That will mean if that new PC goes down or has a network issue the system is down. It has been a long time since I used FTV SE but can you put it on both redundant servers?

The last time I did a redundant SE server, we had the directory installed on a third Server that was used as an engineering station.
So never saw the issue you have. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
