Help setting up PLC

A local demo contractor has a couple of SLC 500's. One a 10 slot and the other a 7 slot Every thing is ser A

Here is what cards are in the two controllers.

Both have 1746-P1 Ser A power supply

Both have 1747-ASB Ser A I/O adaptor cards

And several
1746-OA16 Ser A Output cards

1746-1A16 Ser A Input cards

He wants $100.00 for both. Would either of these do me any good in my project?

I know I will need differant modules that handle 4-20 mA and dc pulsed inputs but are the adaptor cards of any value to me? Not sure what the adaptor cards are used for.

Would I need a CPU card also?

Or I'm I better looking for a complete unit else were?

Thanks for any help.
