How long before membership kicks in?

I upgraded so I could search and do some attachments, but it still won't let me. How long before it takes effect? Payment went through.

On a side note, I dont think you need to upgrade for attachments

I'm in now. Plus, I figured out how to attach a file. I need to select the "Post Reply" button on the top or bottom of the thread instead of using the "Quick Reply" option. The other gives me the paper click options to attach files.
