Hello
I'm trying to link up MelsecExplorer and Melsec FX2N:

Is it possible to connetc the MelsecExplorer to the programming port (CPU port) on the Melsec FX2N, by using the programming cable SC09?

Do i have to upgrade MelsexExplorer?

Technically SC09 should work
But I had few porblems (I used FX1N):
First if I installed program as a service, I colud not get communication.
Reinstalled to run as a program - works OK.
After that I installed MELDDE, it stopped working again.
Did not have a time to find out why.

My problem is first the configuration of MelsecExplorer: Do i have to configurate the com2 port or do ihave to use the Melsec Inteface Board?

FX2N port is RS422 port.
Computer port is RS232 port.
You need some kind of RS232/RS422 adapter:
SC09 or FX2N-RS232-BD or Third party cable/adapter.

In your software you have to specify port you connect this adapter.
You can get cheap Mitsubishi converters, adapters cables at www.plccables.com

Thank you for the help so far, but i still got the problem.

I'v tryed to reinnstall MelsecExplorer, but it made no differense.
But where do i choose to make MelsecExplorer run as a program and not as a service?

OK this is what i got:

Pc with MelsecExplorer installed and a MelsecFX2N 32MR.
To connect the PC and PLC i use the SC-09 (RS232/RS422 converter).

The SC-09 is connected to com2 on the pc and the programport on the PLC.

So my problem is how to configurate MelsecExplorer. In port setting i use this comport settings:

Port nr: 2
Baudrate: 9600
Parity: None
Flow: Hardware
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1

When i trying to connect i got these error massages:

Time Out Error (Wait=12 / got=12)
Recieve framing error

Do i have to configurate the PLC too?

Here is the answer:

MelsecExplorer-FX2N

To communicate with the FX2N by using the CPU port you need the CS09 cable and MX-Link to run beside MelsecExplorer.

MelsecExplorer can not communicate with te CPU port on the FX2N ditectly.
