I would like to upload a copy of the Pb32 program on one of our legacy panel views(2711-T14C3) 1400.
We currently have it connected to a SLC 5/05 via a 1761-NET-AIC.
It looks like there is a second RS232 db 9 port that can be used as a printer or upload download application but in the configuration it is enabled and I can change that from the PV. So I,m not sure if it's not an option with this PV or what?
So I was hoping to just hit the PV from the 1761-NET -AIC DH485 serial connection but wanted to make sure this was the best path forward.
So my questions:
Should I just unplug my DH485 cable that feeds into my 1761-NET -AIC and use a Pic with a 1747-C10 cable or is there a separate upload download port?
I also have a 1747-UIC that I believe is the new USB replacement for the old PIC's.
Or..... Can I just hit the PV from the 1761-NET -AIC without shutting the equipment down?
I was thinking of doing the following....
Use the 1747-UIC with the 1747-C10 cable and connect straight to the PV.
In RS Linx add driver,df1, add com port, choose 1770-KF3/1747-KE , 19200 baud, stationX,
Then go to pb32 software and upload using RSLinx network and slept new driver added.
Any thoughts on the best way to achieve communications with the PV and hardware I have?
I have an older PIC so it might be easier to just use it with my old laptop with a serial port.
Thanks for any replies!!!
