Looking for some assistance with a slc500 5/03 to panelview connection. i'm using 1747-SN rev. B (in slot 1) at 115.2k baud, connected to a panelview 2711-TC1, firmware revision 3.

i can communicate and transfer individual bits integers, etc. back and forth between the panelview and slc500... no problem.

i would like to do this with a block transfer. The configuration software for the panelview (PDS.exe, dos version) allows the selection under "communication" - "PLC type" as SLC-500 1747-SN, but then refuses to allow a block transfer configuration, or sends an error message if the application has previously been configured for a block transfer.

Q: is there a way to do block transfer with the existing equipment?
Q: will a firmware update of the panelview resolve the problem?
Q: will a "communication" - "PLC type" selection other than SLC-500 1747-SN work, (say PLC-5/15 integral) even though its not the hardware I have?
