Monitor UDP device on Profinet

I have a device that outputs a status packet over UDP protocol that I want to capture and monitor with my Profinet network. Does anyone have knowledge of doing this? I see a lot of gateways to Profinet but I have not seen one for UDP.

Most Profinet controllers also support TCP communications. Most of the devices that support TCP comms support UDP as well.

Which PLC are you using?

A lot of machines are CNC 840D, but also S7 300 and S7 1500.

In the S7-300, look into the TUSEND/TURCV blocks. For an example from the support site:

In the S7-1500, the same blocks can be used, but I think the new instructions TSEND_C/TRCV_C simplify things a bit. They include the connect/disconnect blocks into a simpler interface. This example is for the 1200, but it works the same in the 1500.

I'm not 100% sure of the 840D's capabilities, but I think it uses AG_send/AG_recv.

In all of these cases, you should be able to do the Profinet communication at the same time as the UDP communication.
