Point I/O

Hi all,

As a novice with regard to controllogix hardware setup, I have a question.
I have a remote, point I/O rack With a number of input, output and analog units all in and functioning, the question is - I need additional outputs but have no spares on this rack, I do have a spare input card on this rack, so can I swap the input card with an output card and reconfigure the point I/O rack, the only problem is, ideally this needs to be done online, is this possible?

Has anyone any idea if this is possilbe or if an additional point I/O slot can be added online?

Cannot be done online. You'll have to slip it in during downtime.

Thanks for that, its as I feared, looks like i'm going to have to schedule it in for next shutdown.
