slc 5 plc

Dear sir,
i have a problem in press machine bruder the machine manufacturing is 1980 & last ten years the machine is not in running condition. my problem is that in this machine the allenbradely plc slc 5 .the cell is there can we replace in off codition or not.

how can i run the plc.
pls give me a tip for running the plc

You can replace the 'cell' (batt) but my guess is that the program vanised years ago when the 'cell' died...do you still have a print-out of the program/ladder logic? If so, you can reload it after you put power back to the machine.
