Is this possible?

I have a high speed solenoid valve that I need to connect to a siemens S7-222 PLC... The valve requires a high voltage trigger (48V for 3ms) to open and 24V to sustain. What is the simple way to do this?

Should I use 2 PLC outputs with separate relays and have one connected to 24V and another to 48V supply? The relay connected to 48V will only be ON for 3 ms? Is this possible??

Try this maybe!

We do a very similar thing with some sprayer solenoid valves. These valves call for quick turn on/off times, also in the milliseconds.

The Pull-In Voltage is rated at 48VDC (unregulated) and a maixmum of 200mA @ 24VDC Hold-in.

These are SENCON drivers for can production.

Part # of the driver we use is:
D.I. SOL DRV. LST
213-10563-00

You will also need a rack for this driver, but I do not have that number handy.

For what we use them for, and the service from Sencon, they are worth the money.
We turn them on/off 280-300 times a minute, usually 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
