step5 on xp laptop with no diskdrive

Hi all,

I installed step 5 on my xp laptop. The authorization disk is needed to run step 5. How do I get the autorization transfered to my laptop? I looked at authorsW, to do an off-line transfer, but step 5 is not listed. I tried to use the USB drive, but lost my authorization (Siemens helpdesk got my authorization back).

any help would be much appreciated

A USB floppy drive should work just fine, I have used these on numerous occasion to install Step5 authorisation.

What did you do to lose your authorisation?

On a desktop PC with floppy: move authorisation to usb drive. Half way through the dos program faults with 'direct disk access violation' I recall. Authorisation not on USB drive and not on floppy anymore. Called siemens helpdesk asia and they told me I can't install on usb drive.
Note: the authorisation program is the old dos program.

He is talking about getting a FLOPPY drive that connects via USB.
