I am having problems with installing my new 1747-UIC on my laptop, I have been looking at some of the past problems with this. I am using windows XP Pro, does the UIC work with XP or am I doing something wrong?

Yes the 1747-Uic does work with xp Pro there is a problem with using autodetect on RS linx. The AB web site knowledge base has several articles on the UIC. Also keep in mind that the UIC will only work for RS 485 not on RS 232 A standard serial to USB adaptor will allow the RS 232 connections. Do a search on this site there are several posts that discuss the problems with the UIC
