Hi again, so this new client has a SLC 5/02 with a DH485 port. I have the older white 1747-UIC adaptor, which I have only ever used for the RS232 function. For connecting my laptop to the PLC, I can use the 1747-UIC and apparently cable 1747-C13. It looks like a Cat 5 or 6 ethernet cable with the same RJ-45 type plugs. I don't have this cable. Any chance a standard ethernet patch cable or a crossover cable would work?

Straight through patch cable will be fine. Do not use a cross over cable.
