communication problem with A/B micrologic

i am not able to go online with this micro logic
it is a 1761-L16awa model .
i have in rs linx i have my driver set on AB_DFI-1
i have a AB 1761-CBL-PM02 cable
i get a message "diagnostics failed Ox4 "
i have tried who's active

what am i leaving out ?

refering to your DF1 configuration dialog box:

1. Is the driver type "RS232 DF1 devices"?

2. Is the "Comm Port" setting set to the com port your cable is attached to?

3. Is the "Device" setting set to "SLC-CH0/Micro/Panelview"

4. If you press "Auto-Configure", do you get an acknowledgement that the setting are correct?

you dont mention if you have a proccesor, If you do not have the proccesor noting will work. Other than that ever thing that jstolaruk has metioned should do the trick.
