I’m interested in configuring the DeviceNet Scanner to communicate with a MicroLogix 1000. I am running a SLC 5/04 processor with an older version of RSLogic 500 ver.2.57.

This is a home project and this is just to help me understand DeviceNet.



Do I need any additional hardware or software to experiment with application?

You'll need a 1761-NET-DNI (and cable) to connect the Micrologix to DeviceNet and you'll need RSNetworx for DeviceNet to configure the network.

Can I download the Demo RSNetworx from AB website and will it work?

This Demo CD contains fully functional versions of RSNetWorx for ControlNet™ and RSNetWorx for DeviceNet™. These Demo versions limit the number of devices that you can have in your network configuration.

The only limitation I am aware of is that you are limited to a max of six nodes.

This will be ok...my problem is downloading RSNetworx. We only have dial-up availiable in our location. This will take sometime...
