Another 505 question

We are having problems with losing comunication from our 505 plc's and our wonderware nodes. When we ping the plc from a computer we get a reply that looks like this "Reply from 19.102.18.9: bytes=32 time=6ms ttl=60" but on the ones that we are having problems with the ttl is = 128. What is the TTL and could it be affecting our communication link??? Thanks for any advice. Rodney
 
we are using the cisco catalyst 2950 switch we have about 6 of these in our plant that all go back to our main server. 95% of all communication is done through ethernet
 
There are several models of PLC that have the name or number "505". Which ones are you talking about ?
 
What model of 545? 1101, 1102, 1104?
Which ethernet module are you using in the 545 vs the other processors?
Can you post you setup code?

I'm not familiar with the S7 line, but until recently, the 545 ethernet modules were available in 10 megabit only, the S7's might be 100 m/b. CTI now sells a 100 m/b module for the 505 series. You can read about it here: http://www.controltechnology.com/products/2572-a/

We are using the CTI2572 ethernet modules and the plc is the 1105 series. I have the ethernet config from the ladder and the sf program i will see if i can post it as well. Thanks
