analog input error correction

I'm using AB compact logix with its 1769 IF-8.
For 4-20mA i configured the card to use the data format of 4000-20000.

using a simulator i force 4-20mA in each input.
for 4mA sometimes i get 3998 or even 3996,for 20mA i get 20010 to 19998.

How do i avoid out of range alarms ?

I addition,I must take into account the errors of the instrument itself.The PT100 for instance.

How do i display the correct EU-value ?

It seems to be that your simulator device is the one that is out of range, i guess your board is new, but if you trust in your devicet you can try to calibrate your board to fit into 4000 - 20000 range

Or you can try to scale your inputs so that your outputs are always in the range you want, i.e. 4000 - 20000

The errors your talking about are less then .05%, thats beyond nit picking to me. There next to perfect (IMHO). The under and overrange are at 3200
and 21000, its up the the programmer to decide what to do if that occurs.
The card and processor continue to work.
To get EU from raw data is a math excerice. y=mx+b ( equation for a line)
