I have an HSC counter that is tied to an incremental encoder that keeps running. My PLC is a MicroLogix1100 that is an RSLogix 500 platform. I want to know how I can reset the overflow bit when that occurs.

Thanks,

Marianne

Clear the bit when your software operands require it to.
(If you are getting out of range, control the process before it is too late)
Use a reset from your user program to reset the HSC:0/OF bit.
Have you downloaded the manual? It is a good place to start.
