I have a customer who wants to take a network cable plugged into a barcode printer, split the signal and send it to a Micrologix 1500 at the same time as the printer. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Don

when you say network cable you mean Cat-5?

If it is you have to goto the source and get it to send it to your Micrologix with OPC or someother kind of service. But if its Ascii through Serial you can "tap" off of it and get the signal that way. But dont try to take it too far as the signal will degrade.

Chris,

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is a Cat-5 cable. I was hoping it would be easier than that. It is in the middle of the plant a long way from the source PC.
