Any ideas as to the best/cheapest way of remote access on a Micrologix 1400 connected to Panelview C1000.
The system is connected to an ethernet hub and a GSM modem.
Apart from Text alarm messages the client now wants to view the same information shown on the embedded HMI on his laptop from a remote location over ethernet/modem.
It needs some form of basic SCADA I think.

Hi Dave

i would look at Archies great work at this link

If you use this as a hmi on your clients side, it should help you keep cost down.

Or using the embedded webserver in the ml1400 to view the data.

If there is 3g cover in the area of the remote station, adding a 3g router to the exsiting ethernet network could be an easy way of getting data out of the ml1400 by creating a vpn to your clients office.
