If you use any Pannelbuilder or Plus Panels switch to red lion the are about half the cost and are rock solid it took me a project to warm up to them but you can call them without paying an unholy amount for service like AB and the graphics are very good they all have web servers,Ftp Servers and much more. You don't need a kepware driver to make it talk and the software is free ....... and for the price of a PV 550 Ethernet you can buy 2 1/2 for the same price and their about the size of the size of a PV 600. I want some 10 ad 15" to get rid of some of my PV 1200 and 1400's in the plant I had been using PV plus but they suck if you us RS view the ME addition is very lacking and it cost way to much and as usual there are bugs that AB wont tell you unless you pay them for their crappy tech connect support. I Miss the days i could call them for free from 9 to 5 but now they are greedy and most of the hardware is made in Asia and we are being charged American prices and that ****es me of.

You will find that Red Lion is very well liked by forum members on this site. And can't beat the support for it here.

Ranting about AB is old news and really does not serve any real purpose anymore. To me, its best to tell us what you like not what you don't like.

BLAH-B-BLAH-BLAH.....BLAH. *yawn

Welcome to the forum;)

It looks like I will be using a RedLion 15" in a project soon. The RL is about $2000 cheaper than the higher priced HMI. When you times that by 8 machines that will be upgraded, that is quite a bit of money.

I don't like the appearance of the Red Lion screens as much as a PanelView--they seem a bit 'cloudy' or something. They just don't have the "sharp crispness" that I see in the AB PanelViews. As for the other features, I would agree that Red Lion is pretty hard to beat...

> VOC noted!

Your comment gave me a twitch. VOC is the "next big thing" in our parent company. I remember when it was just called "listening".

For the uninitiated, VOC = Voice Of the Customer. It is actually a good concept, but in my opinion like Demming and many other management fads it is being oversold. Fundamentally it is trying to teach a formalized discipline to folks as a substitute for common sense and experience.

Btw

The few times I called Jeramey because I refused to read that PDF he was quite nice My only concern between your product and the Ailing Badly was morons with water hoses cleaning them off He assured me that your Lab your lab had a 6000 PSI washer at 40 GPM flowing on yours 24 7 and they worked just fine LOL

I may be exaggerating a little but he convinced me they were monkey resistant......."Thanks Boss I Love them"
I will try Crimson 3 tomorrow and add in my two cents
