Starting a new system up with the Prosoft profibus
controller. Are gsd files still needed for items
like oh lets say a dynapar abs AI25 series encoder.
and if they are needed where does one find them? Not
on Dynapars web site I know.

I have used encoders with profibus. I would assume a GSD file is still required.

Call Dynapar.

Found the GSD on the web site finally. I also have a bank of 8 Festo regulators that will be on
Profibus replacing 8 I/P's.
I have the encoder configured and powered. Now I am getting a flashing bus led
on the encoder and a red comm light on the prosoft module.
I double checked my wiring and dips and config, it all looks
good. Anybody have some ideas to check?o_O

Finally answered my question. I had all the dip settings
backwards, off was on vice a versa, now I'll take a look
into the PLC for data. I might be back. Thanks for your
help thus far.
