Hello follow PLC programmer
I have used this forum for a while now and really impressed by the amount of knowledge that is available.

Today I have a question of my own

. I am venturing into the world of motion control. my first project will involve using Ultra3000 drive. After completing the connection. I used ultraware to do auto tuning and the drive displayed E02. Velocity exceeds position Rollover/2. What does that mean?

What do I need to adjust to get this going?

thank you

I'm not an Ultra 3000 expert, but this error is explained in a little more detail in the Rockwell Automation knowledgebase, in Answer ID # 48898.

Are you running an indexing application, or using the drive as an amplifier to a Rockwell controller like ControlLogix, or something else ?

That error code is also supposed to be specific to firmware 1.10 and earlier. The Ultra 3000 has had version 1.52 firmware available for at least three years... version 1.10 has to be 8 or 10 years old.

You can get the current firmware that's loadable via Ultraware if you have a TechConnect support contract, from the Knowledgebase, Answer ID #45743.

Firmware for SERCOS drives can be loaded using the more conventional ControlFlash utility and is downloaded from the normal RA firmware website.

Dear Ken,

I feel the same like amo20043.
Recently we got E11 on our Ultra3000.Since we have spare motor (with brake as earlier) then we replaced it. But once jog the motor with push button switch (Rockwell PLC), it show E24.
From the manual, it is recommend to adjust the acceleration, but it did'nt work.
I tried with manual tuning with 75, 150, 200 RPM, the motor just turn forward and reverse continously.
With auto tuning, the motor doesn't move at all with the result autotune FAILED.
During the manual/auto tuning, the brake is energised.

Need your advise.
