help with problem machine please!

We have a machine with a win nt pc, elau max 4 controller and servos and profibus i/o. one day it ran fine, the next day when the hmi screen appeared, I got a "runtime error 53 file not found " screen. clicking OK to that closes the HMI program. Anyone know of a person that can work on a system like that? The HMI is in Visual Basic. All the electrical equipment is OK, the elau suff shows no errors.
