Omron NV HMI USB Cable

Good day,

Situation:
I'll be having an application wherein I will use Omron CP1H PLC that will run Omron "NV3Q-MR21". This HMI has a USB port which can be used for program transfer (PC-PT) via USB A-to-B.

Question:
Can I also use the USB cable as (PLC-PT) communication cable instead of Serial Communication?

USB port is only for programming.

You will need the serial cable.

Ok, thanks. Just a follow up. The NV3Q doesn't have a usual DB-9 connector for RS232 (male to male) instead, it has a connector terminal which requires hard wiring. Basically, I want to ask if instead of ordering XW2Z-200T-3, can you give me the wiring details on how to make my own cable just as this one?

Attached is the pinout for the CP1W-CIF01 comm adapter for the CP1H.

The connections on the NV are documented in the V103 manual.

You should be able to sort out the cable with that information.
