My PIC works fine on a 5:03 processor on XP service pack 2 but if I load service pack 3 the PIC stops communicating and if I load linx lite 2.54 I have to have service pack 3 I cant even communicate with my serial cable.

I can't tell if there is a question in there somewhere but you are correct that the PIC does NOT work with Windows XP SP3.
 
can the firm ware on my panel view 550 be updated cat #2711-K5A2 FRN 1.07 My pic modual wont communicate with it until I load Linx classic 2.57 and to do that it says I have to install service pack 3
