Attemping pass thru on SLC5/03, PV300 DH485

PV300: 2711-K3A5L1

I'm trying to do a pass thru on a SLC 5/03 CPU. I have the cpu online on CH1 DH-485. The PV300 terminal is DH485 capable and communicating normally with the SLC500. I have both Channel 1 and 2 set to DH485, 19200 baud. Pass through link ID on channel 1 is 2 and Channel 0 is 1. I cannot for the life of me get the PV300 to show up in Linx / Builder32.

I've tried the exact same program and communication settings on a SLC5/04 CPU with a DH+ link between PC and SLC and the PV300 shows up without issue and I can download / upload.

Any thoughts?

Have you turned on the Pass Through Bit in the Controller Status for Channel 0?

I don't think you can bridge from DH485 to DH485 on an SLC-5/0x controller.

You can bridge from DF1 Full Duplex to DH485. That feature was added seven or eight years ago to the SLC-5/03 firmware in OS302 Series C FRN 8.

PanelBuilder32 might not work through that Passthrough connection, though; PanelBuilder download packets are larger than ordinary RSLogix 500 packets or MSG instructions and I'm not certain that the SLC's passthrough firmware worked for that specific product mix.

Since it's a K3 terminal, not a PV300 Micro, you do have a Flash card slot; I'd recommend not messing with network passthrough and just use a CF card in a Type II carrier (remember it needs to be FAT16 formatted, so you need one under 2 GB).

Double check node addresses and firmware of your SLC.
