New to RSLogix500..

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to RSlogix 500 but am pretty familiar with Siemens Step7 and ladder logic in general. I installed the RSlogix software on my machine. But at present I don't have the license key. I might get it in a week or so.

In the meantime, I want to know if there are any manuals available on the internet that can help me get started. I know there would be online help on the software but I cannot open that either as I do not have the key.

I would really appreciate any guidance.

SLC-500 Instruction Set Reference Manual

incidentally ... you didn't say what hardware platform you'll be using ... if it's not SLC-500 you might need a different Instruction Set Reference Manual ... there are a few differences between SLC and MicroLogix, etc. ...

Three things to try:

1) Go to THE ROCKWELL WEBSITE and follow the links for Documentation|Online Manuals| Control Processors. You'll want the SLC 500 instruction manual. (HERE'S direct link, but I believe you have to register first before it will let you there)

2) Go TheLearningPit. They have a simulator (with free trial) that you can download that is based on RSLogix500. You can play with that a bit to get familiar with the system.

3) Uninstall your copy of RSLogix and download the free one that will only work with a Micrologix 1000. It's pretty much the same software, but with limited features.

I'm surprised you can't install the HELP. That doesn't make sense.
