where can you purchase low priced hmi pc based sw that will comm with various plc"s.

Do a search in the Forum for AdvancedHMI. That is a free HMI program that is free. The owner/designer of the system is on the site quite often.

I have used this before, it works well, can be used to just get data from a plc, and it does not cost anything at all. You do have to learn Visual basic, but visual basic express version will work and it is free from microsoft also, and is easy to learn. Need any help, just ask.
