SLC IO with Compact logix

RTFM, more than usual

I strongly recommend that you read the User Manual for the 1747-AENTR carefully and understand its functionality and limitations before using it in a CompactLogix application.

The 1747-AENTR uses a CIP connection for every module, rather than having a Rack Optimization mode. Even a medium-size I/O application will rapidly use up the available CIP connections of an older 1769-L32E or -L35E CompactLogix model. Modern 5370-series CompactLogix have a different capacity calculation method and are intended for use with the 1747-AENTR.
