Ok I will do my best here I have 16 525 vfds all connected via ethernet to a net gear managed switch I have the IGMP snooping turned on. When the system is turned on in about 5 min the I will get a F073 enthernet comm alarm. Any clue??????

Do the switch management features show you any hardware problems on any of the ports ? What about the diagnostic web pages of the drives and the controller ?

Are you using unicast or multicast connections to the drives ? The IGMP Snooping feature only applies if you are using multicast.

Do ALL the drives give you errors at the same time, or just specific drives ?
 
Do you have the latest firmware in the 525? I heard a rumor from a local Rockwell contact that there is a known issue that was not repaired until the latest firmware release that causes unexplained timeouts on Ethernet.

In the process of upgrading the the firmware I will keep you posted.

FYI:

We tried flashing 525 firmware with a USB connection and tanked both times - both drives were left in a state that we couldn't flash again (at least with USB).

We finally flashed with ethernet and had no problems. We were also able to recover the 2 previous drives using the ethernet flash.
