PanelView 300 Micro

Hello,

I had a thread about downloading the application file to panelview 300 without Panel builder 32 and some kind people here helped me out with that. I thank all of them for the help.

Now the real issue with the installation is that the application in the panelview gets erased automatically. We have 4 panelview 300 micros installed on 4 machines (air dryers). We have faced 4 cases of the application file being erased from the panelview without anybody doing it.

I would like to know if bad earthing can be a problem here or what is the nominal earth current allowable for Panelview. Or if anybody has faced such issues with any AB panelviews and if so what was the remedy.

I've tried searching the figures on AB site but was unable to get a decent result.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

I would think that power quality might be a factor. We were using the PV300 micro in several locations, some of which are a bit hostile, and they died frequently. Ours would come up blank, with only a backlight, or the display would be garbled.

We replaced one of them in the worst environment with a Red Lion G304K. So far it has been running for over a month without any problems. It is a much more capable device, less expensive, and the programming software is free. The panel cut out for the G304K is slightly larger than the 300 Micro. In my opinion it is a great replacement. It will talk DF1, DH485, and many other non-AB protocols. So, I can't think of anything the 300 Micro can do that the G304K can't do faster and better.
