Try this little device. It can be used to pull the IP or even assign an IP to a BootP enabled device.

Another possible way to see IP on a Micro 820 is with a 2080-REMLCD connected to the serial port. The default serial port settings in a new project support the REMLCD but settings could be changed or the port disabled. Menu navigation is similar to MicroLogix 1100/1400: Menu -> Advanced -> ENET Cfg ->

Edit - the REMLCD also has a USB port that will let CCW reach the PLC, IF the PLC serial port is setup to support the REMLCD

Not sure if they work with the 800 series, I have not tried them yet but I dont see why they would not
