I had problems with this device in the past. If someone plugs an ethernet cable into the RJ45 connector on the front, the device no longer functions properly.

Open the program and on the project tree click communication, then you will setup the port.... I don't have RSLogix on the PC but will post a screen shot later if someone does not do it before

Do you have a copy of the program? if you post it we can look at how its setup

see attached, the first is the default setting, second is how to set the DB9 port to DH485

Well, I commented that I could connect to the PLC through the RS232 port SLC5/03 plc. as you said the port was configured for DF1 and I had to set to DH485.

Glad you got it.... but it was Mickey in post 3 (two days ago) that said you need to configure the port to DH485
