Factory Talk view studio tutorials

Hello Everyone,

I am designing HMI at work. I know the basic concept behind HMI. I am taking over this project and 50% HMI is already finished by first programmer. I uploaded the .MER file already and restore the run time application. Now I have source file. I am looking for tutorial on how to design HMI. Please recommend if you know any youtube channel or blog or website to learn how to design HMI from scratch.

NOTE: Its AB panel view plus 7 and so far I am following the AB FT user's guide.

Thank you

#1 (and I'm old school, so guilty of this, trying to stop) Turn your color palette off.
#2 Avoid trying to make things look like a "Realistic Model".
#3 Don't put Every Tag Available On The Screen, show only what is necessary.
#4 Pick a way of representing things, and Always Be Consistent

Look into the current philosophy of "High Performance HMI Design".

Spend an hour, and watch this webinar video for excellent information...

Excellent advice. Most HMIs look to of been designed by Stevie Wonder or someone with a passion for trying to use every colour ever invented on every screen.

Thank you, but it isn't my advice, and as I said, I'm trying to break out of the 'Old School' habit with HMI's.

All of the advice I posted is directly from the ISA and their work on HMI concepts. The short-sheet on the concept is at isa.org over here.

It is a bit of a battle over here with the sales and marketing people when they do tours, but honestly, reducing everything to essentially 6 shades of grey-scale, and ONLY using color to show an out of bounds condition makes it a breeze for an operator, or supervisor, or almost anyone to just glance at a display screen and see that there is a problem.
