I am trying to get programming software & cable to upload ladder program from a plc fx-48mr, somebody knows which cable and software I need to get?

id recommend GX iec developer, but gx developer or melsec medoc would work as well

the cable is called SC09 FX i think, can find them for 10 bucks on ebay

ok guys, lets back up a bit, the OP said a FX-48MR, this is one of the first Mitsi PLC's they built. You need a F2-20GF1 converter with a SC03 cable. These items are harder to find than hens teeth. Ask me I know. I have one of these beasts on site, have the converter, the software, no cable. Luckily I do have a hard copy of the program, so the first sign of trouble, its out and becomes a door stopper.

It is different to the FX2 series which use the SC09 cable and the newer FX3 series which use USB, Also to my knowlege, i could be wrong though, the FX series only works with MEDOC

Good luck in finding what you need.

When you guys across the pond read this I will be getting ready to leave and have one of these 🍺. enjoy your weekend

Hi friends,
I am new to this post & had not gone through the whole post. But I remember one good feature which Mitsubishi FX2n provides i.e. you can connect PLC via MMI if it is also from Mitsubishi ( GOT series). They usually gives RS232 Port on GOT & FX2n can be accessed through GOT by using simple cross cable with 9 pin connector on both sides, can be easily soldered at lab.
Best of luck

(n) There are so many innacuracies in this post i dont know where to start.

You have your FX and F series totally mixed up....

- The FX-48 MR is not the first PLC's that Mitsi Built, thats the F

FX: http://www.plcsweden.se/se/art/plc-mitsubishi/fx-system/fx/fx-48mr-es.php

F: http://www.lektronix.net/equipment/16310/mitsubishi/plc/f1-20mr-es/f120mres/

- F2-20GF1 was for the F Series, not the FX:

- The SC09 will work with FX:

- GX Developer will work with the FX series

Tragically is correct FX 48mr will be fine with an SC09 Its the F1 that needs a converter and SC05 cable Unfortunately I was around when these things were new. Regards Badger

Don't use GXIEC as you can only upload in stl GX Developer will show code in ladder, the SC09 cable will be fine.
