Hi all
I am going to change out a SLC500 5/03 processor to a 5/04 type as the 5/04 is the one we stock and have elsewhere on the plant.
The 5/03 has a RJ45 DH485 connection to a HMI.
If I set up the RS232 channel on the new 5/04 to be DH485 and install a RS232 to 485 convertor (likely to be an Adam unit) is that simply all I have to do to get the HMI to talk to the SLC?
Also, to go from the Adam 232 to the 232 port on the SLC would my lead be a straight through serial cable using pins
2 - 2 (Transmit)
3 - 3 (Receive)
7 - 7 (Signal ground)
I think all of the above should work but I have to take the machine offline to make the changes so I would rather be a bit more sure!
