Hi ,

we try to get a CPU 317T-2 D back to life, memory card was defective and with some resets we have only sf light red flickering

we tried to load 3176TK13_V265.EXE ( 4014 KB ) with simatic manager v5.2 on a field pg .

with following instructions ( below)

we deleted the new 8mb card and clicked Update Operating System

select file CPU_HD.UPD
after this we get

eprom an error occurred writing to the memory card!

any idea what is going wrong . second card now and card is ok :(

Requirements for creating an operating system update card:

Micro Memory Card with at least 8 MB of capacity;
order number 6ES7 953-8LP20-0AA0
STEP 7 V5.1 SP2 or higher
PC with external prommer (order number 6ES7 792-0AA00-0XA0) or Field PG for programming the memory card
Creating the operating system update card via STEP 7:

Download of the desired CPU file
Unpack the file by double-clicking on the file name
Delete the Micro Memory Card by means of "File / S7 Memory Card / Delete" in the SIMATIC Manager
Program the operating system by selecting "PLC / Update Operating System" in the SIMATIC Manager, select the target folder and start the programming process by opening the file CPU_HD.UPD
The operating system update card has been programmed, if the message "The firmware update for the module with the order number 6ES7317-6TK13-0AB0 was successfully transferred to the S7 memory card" appears on the screen.

Why did you go straight to loading new firmware on the CPU if the problem was a defective MMC card ?

If you have a valid STEP7 project, and a new MMC card, you should install the MMC card in the CPU and perform a normal download to the CPU. Start with the hardware configuration, followed by all the program blocks.

Post a pic of the Simatic Manager project
Opened in Step7
we dont have a project only followed this instructions from siemens website

But if you don’t have the original project and a damage mmc… you won’t be able to get this system up again

How can you load the code to the mmc?

There can be many reasons as to why you cannot connect to an S7-300 CPU.
It is too early to assume that you have to load a new firmware onto the CPU.
Post a screenshot of your PG/PC Interface settings.
I recommend that you attempt to perfom an 'Upload Station to PG'.
1. If succesful, it will provide you with a backup of the S7 project.
2. It is a safe way to check if you can connect with the CPU.
Post a screenshot of what you do when doing an 'Upload Station to PG'.
The above may not be possible due to that it is a T-CPU. I am not 100% sure if it is so.
You need the option package 'S7-Technology" for STEP7 to program it.
From the screenshot in post 1, you don't have it.

ok:) see picture 2 this led is flickering 2 times a second

Put the original mmc in the 317T
Then power cpu back on

Set your pg pc interface to 5611 auto

Place your cable on the left port of the plcs cpu

Try accessible nodes
Or let us know if anything shows

According to your screenshot you don’t have all the software needed to support this cpu
(S7 Technology or Scout is needed, Scout can used used with T cpu too)
