Revisiting a project I did 3 years ago with a 90-30 (CPU350). Haven't touched a GE product since then. Was hoping I wouldn't have to again...
They added an APU300 High-Speed Counter card to track an encoder. I want to reset (preload?) the accumulated count with a specific number (possibly just zero) from the logic. Basically this is just to zero out the encoder each time the travel reaches a limit switch (one-shot off an existing PLC input) at the end of travel (i.e. 'Home Position'). I've studied the manual (LINK), but I'm still confused.
Can I simply use the example starting on page 4-19 (PDF page 54), with the count value I want in IN5 and IN6 (in the second BLKMOV instruction)? In other words, replace the '44332211H' with my value?
Also, in that example, is there an important reason why they use a %Q (output) bit for the one-shot? I would have used a %M bit...
