Analog input write to HMI

Dear Experts,

I have a project that needs to write an analog input value to an HMI that accepts only digital input. The CPU for the HMI is CortexM3. The analog input will be coming from a Sixnet controller using ATMEGA69 CPU and they are communicating through rs232. I should be able to modify a setpoint in the HMI say a temperature and process by the controller to provide a desired output.
Can anyone please guide me on how to go on with this project?

I'm not familiar with the CortextM3 CPU but generally you don't write to a HMI screen. A HMI displays data which is read from a CPU or it can be used to write data to a CPU. What HMI screen are you using?

Dear beethoven,
I am using HMI from stone technology but has limited application. We should be able to read or write analog signals to a controller as a set-point but this hmi needs a converter to digital signal before it can display analog values. Maybe one solution to this is to make a circuit from a microcontroller like PIC, program it to reflects the set-points and another register to read. Could this be possible?

What is the brand / model of the HMI and the PLC ?

The brand of the HMI is Stone Technology and the Model is ST1070WT-01, the PLC is Sixnet VersaTrak mIPm model VT-MIPM-241-DB.
