Best method for creating a time stamp in a string tag in a ControlLogix PLC?

I want to create a time stamp within my PLC when an event occurs and then read and display it as a string tag in my HMIs. I figured that someone else has probably already done this, so why reinvent the wheel?

Any suggestions?
