Citect

Get a copy of the program. It is free and the full manuals (more recent than the printed versions) are included in the help files. Citect also sells the documentation set (used to be free with a licensed copy of citect). Regards Alan Case

Allan,

you're right! I bought 6 copies of Citect 5 years agoo, complete with the printed manuals. I then didn't know what I know now, otherwise I would have bought them without the manuals. They're completely included in the help files. There are about 4000 (give or take a few) pages of them.

The cost was not justified: 3000 BEF for the CD, 16500 BEF for CD + printed manuals. One set of printed manuals would have been more than sufficient and I would have saved 67500 BEF (about 1700US$).

Kind regards,

Jean
The copy of citect "SHOULD" be free as it is freely downloadable from the web. I know they sometimes charge a small handling fee to post a CD to you but that is usually waived if you ring the local rep and ask for a copy. The free version is fully enabled and in runtime will run for 10 minutes as a single node operation before you have to restart the program to get another 10 minutes. It is the dongle or the software key that costs the big dollars to purchaase.
The European distributor might have different ideas on costings but that was/is one of citects sales points, the development software is free. Regards Alan Case

When you look at documentation, don't forget the Citect knowledge base. It gives you a lot of the obscure tricks that you may need.

Regards,

Doug
