Clamp on Shaft Tach

Sparkie- the results will be graphed over hours. Its not an immediate thing that I'm looking for

Tom- got a photoprox and found that since its light (no pun intended) I can place it in position with a flexible dial indicator stand. Gotta write a little RPM code in the PLC and we should be good do go.
