What some ways to connect an Ethernet only PanelView Plus to a SLC 5/04 without upgrading it to a SLC 5/05?
There is a technote about using one of the USB ports on the PanelViewPlus with a USB to serial adapter to connect to the SLC504 serial port.

I find that gateway device interesting. What do you need to know? a DH+ gateway sounds like it would work, see below for the one we sell

A problem we have with existing legacy PLCs and OPC applications, is that some of the data is sent from the PLC by unsolicited messages to the OPC server.
Does this device support that ?
I checked the manual, and there is an address mapping feature so you can setup for data that is to be sent from an HMI to a PLC, that you can specify that the data sent to a specific IP address is forwarded to a specific DH+ address.
Does it work the other way, from PLC to HMI/OPC as well ?
The answer isn't available anymore. Does anyone have it saved and willing to share to us?There is a technote about using one of the USB ports on the PanelViewPlus with a USB to serial adapter to connect to the SLC504 serial port.
