Hello, I have built a panel with the following components in it.

5310 AB Panelview
5069-L306ER PLC
1606XLE120E power supply
A circuit breaker
1444 Dynamix Module

Currently the HMI will have a display that will show if there's an alarm but we want to make it more visible. Is there anyway to control a mounted flashing light using only the components I have in the enclosure?

Thanks,

David

Does your Dynamix module have any relay outputs? If so, wire the light to one the digital output and program it to flash with a timer if needed. If you don't have any digital outputs, there are Ethernet/IP beacons, but they are pretty expensive if you don't need all the extra features.

The Dynamix does have 1 relay but as far as I am aware it only activates based on measured alarms in the Dynamix configuration. I tried to energize it using an alarm bit but it didn't work.

The old CRT PanelView 1200’s had a nice alarm contact built in just for this purpose... Looks like hardware purchases are required if the Dynamix does not have a spare output available. Expansion output cards for Dynamix are available but probably cost a bit more than adding an output card.
